In March 2020, 170 people were killed on French roads, in France mainland or in French overseas territories.

The introduction of population containment from 17 March 2020 as part of the management of the Covid 19 crisis has greatly reduced all travel, particularly individual or leisure travel.

France Mainland

In France mainland, 154 people died on roads in March 2020, 101 fewer than in March 2019. The decrease concerns most categories of users. Only the fatalities of professional drivers in utility vehicles and heavy goods vehicles are not decreasing.

Overseas

In French Overseas, 16 people died on roads in March 2020, 7 fewer than in March 2019.
