In September 2020, 303 people were killed on French roads, in France mainland or in French overseas territories.

Road fatalities continue to be significantly lower than those usually observed in September, a sign of different travel practices in France.

France Mainland

In France Mainland, 235 people died on the roads in September 2020, 55 fewer than in September 2019. The estimated number of fatalities is lower than last year for motorcyclists (61 fatalities or 21 fewer) and car users (121 fatalities or 16 fewer) .
Despite this decrease, the number of fatalities for cyclists is increasing (37 killed, or 15 more).

Overseas

In French Overseas, 28 people died on roads in September 2020, +11 killed compared to September 2019.
