Victims' profile

In this chapter, you will find a description of the victims involved in the accidents (age, sex, socio-professional category...). The stakes are not the same for all age groups, for men or women, for users on a leisure trip or on a work-related trip...

Young people aged 18 to 24 are the most affected by road deaths (it is even the leading cause of death for this age group). In terms of population, the number of 18-24 year olds killed per million young people is twice as high as the total number of people killed on the roads in metropolitan France per million inhabitants.

The risk and severity are significantly higher for seniors, particularly for those aged 75 and over, than for other age groups. Pedestrians 75 years of age and over are a specific issue in the city.

If we look at the gender of the victims, three times as many men as women die on the roads, a ratio that's found in other countries.
