Police checks
Since 2001, an annual report has been published on offences recorded by the National Police and the National Gendarmerie, excluding the activities of municipal police forces, and on their impact on the points-based driving licence system. The data are provided by the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie (DGGN), the National Directorate of the Republican Security Companies (DCCRS), the National Directorate of Public Security (DCSP), the Police Prefecture (PP), and the National Agency for the Automated Processing of Offences (ANTAI). This report is now supplemented by an annual contribution from the Ministry of Justice regarding convictions.
