Conference on good practice in emergency situations in Europe
The European Road Safety Council is organising a conference on 18 June in Belgium on good practice in emergency situations in Europe. The REVIVE project aims to improve post-accident care provided by emergency medical and radiation protection services in order to mitigate the consequences of road accidents.
According to data from the European Commission, 135,000 people were seriously injured on European roads in 2014. One accident is enough to destroy lives, so it is essential to improve emergency response to prevent injuries and deaths. Up to now, emergency interventions have struggled to obtain resources for research, exchange of good practices and measures in the European Union. The objective of the REVIVE project is to map the practices of emergency medical services (EMS) and emergency and fire services (ERS) in Europe and to improve the visibility of EMS and ERS in national and European political programmes. Road safety practitioners and legislators will gather for this conference, as well as people working in the fire, rescue and medical emergency services. This day will be an opportunity to learn more about the work of the REVIVE project and to discuss good practices in emergency response across Europe.
Registration is open on the event website.
