Public transport

While some accidents are spectacular, the coach is still a mode of transport that is fourteen times safer than the car. Since 01/01/2015, coaches must be equipped with approved safety belts and the use of seat belts is mandatory.

In 2019, 155 injury traffic accidents involved a coach, or 0.3 % of personal accidents. 23 people were killed: 6 car users, 15 vulnerable users (7 pedestrians, 3 cyclists and 5 users of powered two-wheeler) and 2 bus occupants.

In 2019, 674 injury traffic accidents involved a bus, or 1.2 % of personal injuries. 35 people were killed, including 18 pedestrians, 3 cyclist, 4 users of powered two-wheeler, 7 user of cars or light goods vehicle  and 2 bus occupants.

In 2019, 115 tramway accidents were recorded in the BAAC file. The 3 people killed in a tram accident are pedestrians.
