The Government, in line with the actions decided at the Inter-ministerial Committee on Road Safety (CISR) on 2 October 2015, reaffirmed the priorities for action to reduce road accidents when the National Road Safety Council (CNSR) was re-established on 23 January 2017:
In a difficult context of road accidents increase since 2013, the objective of halving the number of people killed between 2010 and 2020 requires the mobilisation of all stakeholders, as do the commitments made by representatives of the private and public sectors to reduce accidents in the context of work-related travel.
In order to encourage this joint involvement, the inter-ministerial director for road safety decided to relaunch the preparation of Local Road Safety Strategies (DGO). They are now available in French for nearly all counties.
